I know, I know. I'm already behind on my first entry for the Big Read V at bookshelves of doom. However! this time I have a semi-legitimate excuse: I was waiting for my book to come in the mail. I procured my copy of The Woman in White via Paperbackswap.com.
During my wait for the book (most of which was spent rabidly pacing back and forth in front of the mail box; I just didn't want to start reading it online! I was stubborn and wanted my first taste to be had under blankets, with a cup of tea, lit spookily by flickering candle or something. Yes, after further evaluation, maybe I was being a tad romantic), I started thinking about my posting schedule. I've decided to still follow Leila's reading schedule, but only post once a week. So, stay glued: I'll probably post on Fridays - at least that's the plan, but you know how my plans sometimes work out.
I did sneak in a bit of reading time today (yesss! the book finally came!) and I've read about 25 pages - and my spine is already tingly (even sans flickering candle!) So come back on Friday for my full reaction to the beginning of Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White.
I'm reading it on the computer (I actually gave the library copy up to a patron), but I might have to light some candles to create the proper atmosphere!

I read so much content on the computer, but for some reason when it comes to books that have been published in the flesh, I just can't get myself to do it. It must be some kind of subconscious protest. Not sure what it's for or against. heh. Oh well. Good luck with the candles...and thanks again for hosting.
